Here are some of the questions we get asked frequently, but if you have a new question then please get in touch.
The name KiteNest reflects our core brand belief of creating high quality 100% natural products, all crafted and nurtured in the rural county of Lincolnshire. We manufacture our products in KN HQ, the laboratory we constructed in early 2016. This was always the plan and much like a bird creating a nest it has been an exciting journey as we put it all together piece by piece.
Alongside our passion for natural cosmetics we are also strong supporters of cruelty-free and eco-friendly cosmetics. The reintroduction of the Red Kite is the perfect symbol of this, and a fantastic success story for the East Midlands. Thanks to the collaboration of countless organisations and individuals the Kite’s distinctive silhouette can once again be seen across the skies of Lincolnshire, proving that when you have the right ideas and support great work can be achieved together.
All KiteNest products are 100% natural and as such may not react like the products you’ve used before. We recommend that you keep our products out of direct sunlight and do not expose them to extreme temperatures (and most importantly never feed them after midnight!)
Please see your individual purchase for best before details.
We’re glad you’ve asked! We’d love it if you’d look at recycling all of our KiteNest packaging and to help you do this we’ve created a series of blog posts to help you. Take a look at our narrated recycling suggestions which have been beautifully sketched by Lincolnshire artist Sian Bristow.
All our packaging is 100% recyclable, including any stickers and labels.
Did you know that you can also recycle the Vermiculite which we use to cushion products in transit? Our Vermiculite is light and clean to handle, has a high insulation value, acoustic-insulating properties, can be used with potted plants, in cement and will absorb and hold a wide range of liquids.
KiteNest products are made small batch by Chris and Markus in their Lincoln workshop. We use the finest natural ingredients without the addition of any nasties, no parabens and our products are never tested on animals.
We are passionate about creating high quality natural products which never compromise on design or performance, hence our moto - Natural Creations Without Compromise.
Markus – “Chris and I started KiteNest after a conversation about what are all the ingredients in commercial hair wax. We’d stayed in touch since working together and would regularly have conversations about how we would improve things, or do them differently. This conversations usually took place on a hike or at a gig.
After a bit of research, some ‘kitchen cosmetic creations’ and because of a growing passion for natural products we decided to share our creations with others. The feedback was really good and before long we’d created KiteNest.”

There is growing noise around the carcinogenic effects of petroleum jelly and the harm of micro-beads to the world’s oceans. We really think it’s time that everyone started to question what their cosmetics contained and the effects to their health and the world around them.
