Here are some of the questions we get asked frequently, but if you have a new question then please get in touch.
Do you offer free postage?
Free postage is included for any KiteNest cosmetic ordered. There is no minimum spend for this. However, we charge for postage on accessory orders under £10. All of our accessories are made by other suppliers so this cost ensures we pay them fairly and covers the fees of transportation. To qualify for free delivery on accessories spend over £10 or add any KiteNest cosmetic.
How do I care for my KiteNest products?
All KiteNest products are 100% natural. With all things natural, they may react differently to synthetic products that you might be more familiar with. We recommend that you keep our products out of direct sunlight and do not expose them to extreme temperatures. During hotter months, placing your lip balms and body butters in the fridge can add extra coolness. You can visit each item's listing for more detailed information on caring for your products.
Please see your individual purchase for best before details.
How do I recycle KiteNest packaging?
We choose packaging that will serve you well. It'll either be 100% compostable or 100% recyclable or even, no packaging at all. We believe in building packaging made to last. So if you take care of your empty tins and jars you can upcycle them in so many fun ways. Head over to our blog page for some quirky ideas. Our tinned Organic Dry Shampoo can also be refilled using our paper pouches. Keep hold of your tin and refill as many times are you please.
What have you done to ensure all KiteNest products are safe to use?
Our manufacturing processes ensure that our full range of cosmetic products meet with the current technical and legal requirements; including compliance with European Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. Our full range of cosmetics have also undergone formal safety assessments conducted by a qualified assessor. Our products are regularly tested to check quality and consistency as well as recorded by batch so that any anomalies, should they arise, can be identified and recalled. No products are ever tested on animals.
I have sensitive skin, are KiteNest products safe for me to use?
It’s difficult to say if a product is right for you. We pride ourselves on only using the most natural and kind ingredients. All of our products are free from harsh chemicals. You can check each website listing or product packaging to see a full list of ingredients. When trying a new product we recommend you try a small amount of the product on an inconspicuous area like you wrist first. If there is no irritation you can then apply it elsewhere. If any products cause you any irritation, discomfort or swelling, stop using immediately.
I’m pregnant should I be careful when using products which contain essential oils?
Although there is no concrete evidence to suggest that essential oils in certified products are harmful to you and your baby during pregnancy, please consult with a medical professional before using new products, or if you have any concerns.
Are natural products better for me?
We certainly think so! Our natural products are hyper-allergenic and fully tested (not on animals) to ensure they are safe for your skin. There are many reasons you may wish to choose natural products but most importantly you should choose what’s right for you and your body.
KiteNest products are not just natural but are also free from harsh chemicals, parabens, sls and synthetic fragrances.

Why should I switch to a solid shampoo bar?
Our shampoo bars contain 100% natural ingredients only. There are no artificial fragrances (which can trigger skin irritation and cause allergies). There are no chemicals like formaldehyde, propylene glycol, and sodium hydroxide - which are known to damage hair over prolonged use. Instead, our include cedarwood essential oils, which are praised for balancing the oil-producing glands in the scalp. This means hair growth promotion and reduction in hair loss. Cedarwood also has antifungal and antibacterial properties, which can treat different conditions that contribute to dandruff and hair loss.
The carbon footprint of making a solid shampoo bar is 25% lower than liquid shampoo and requires 5 times less energy. You save water too. An average bottle of shampoo is made up of 80% water. Conditioner is even higher – about 95%.
Shampoo bars last much longer than commercial liquid bottled shampoo. A bar gives you up to 80 washes - three times more than an average 200ml bottle of shampoo. That also means three less plastic bottles ending up in the landfill.
